- What is the difference between polished
finish and tumbled finish? What type of surface finish should
I choose?
Polished finish looks more shining and cooler. Mosaic with polished
finish gives richer colors, with straight cutting sides and corners.
Tumbled finish mosaic has a stony matt surface, an aged look, and a
warmer tone, with rounded off edges and corners.

- I would like to install mosaics
by myself, how do I do it?
Our mosaics are back-mounted on mesh paper and are installed the same
way as the regular tiles. The installation procedures basically are:
1) Setting using thin-set
2) Grouting
3) Cleaning
4) Sealing mosaic and grout with sealer
However we always recommend installation of mosaics by professional
installers with experience of mosaic work.
- Can I install mosaics in
wet areas?
We do not recommend installation of mosaics in wet areas unless proper
waterproof adhesive, grouting and coating are applied, and the job is
done by a professional installer.
- How do I take care of marble mosaics?
Marbles and cement base grout are porous and are recommended to be sealed
by proper sealer. Surface-coating type sealers usually enhance color
of the stone while penetrating sealers retain the natural color. Sealed
surfaces should be tested periodically for effectiveness.
Ongoing preventive maintenance can usually reduce the need of problem-solving
maintenance. Use a neutral cleaner with a pH between 7 to 10 and avoid
all-purpose cleaners or soaps containing water-soluble inorganic or
crystallizing salts, harmful alkali or acids.

- What is the difference between

First of all, when we talk about finish, we mean the surface that faces
ceiling ( in case of floor ) and faces you ( in case of wall ). Polished
finish looks more shining, feels more smooth and cooler. The tile with
polished finish has sharper texture, with four straight cutting sides
and corners. Tumbled finish looks duller, feels less smooth and much
warmer. The tile with tumbled finish has softer texture, with four sides
and corners rounded off slightly or heavily, depending on the specific
needs. Honed finish is between the polished and the tumbled. That is,
it is neither too shining nor too dull, neither too cool nor too warm,
and with an eggshell surface and a tender texture.
- Is there a minimum order I need
to make?
There is no minimum order required except for the a single orderable
unit. If your first purchase is less then $100 a shipping and handling
charge of $20 will be applied. However we will offer you a rebate of
$20 if your next purchase is over $300.
- Why do you not accept returns?
Our factory custom made each order just the pattern and colour you wanted.
You will be kept informed of the production status throughout the production
period. We believe when the product gets into your hand it can only
surprise you with the quality and beauty of the real product. All products
will come with paper backed mesh and with a package standard taking
into account of the delivery method used, in our case, it will be UPS.
So we encourage you to contact us immediately if the product reached
you in a despairable state.
- When will I receive my order ?
When you placed an order you will receive your order confirmation within
24 hours. You will be able to see your chosen pattern and colours in
the order confirmation. When we receive second confirmation from you
production will start. Please allow around 5 weeks of production and
delivery. We will keep you informed with the status and you will received
a notice of production complete and shipping sent with UPS.
- Do you give discount to volume
orders or repeat order?
Yes and it is indeed our belief that our business can only be sustained
with happy and loyal customers. Please send us a short business proposal
so we can customize a program for you.
- Can you send me a catalogue?
Beauty of mosaic comes in the elegance of the pattern brought alive
by the unique choice of colour combinations to give it a human touch.
Not bound by the limitation of paper catalog, with our online tool you
can now see right in front of you in realtime how different colour combinations
produce totally different impression with the pattern. We have 40 types
of stone and over 25 patterns so there are over 100000 combinations
you can try out !!
- What kinds of payment method
do you receive?
At present, we accept Visa, MasterCard and checks only.
For other payment method, we welcome you consult us first at customerservice@mosaicsondemand.com.
- Why was my credit card charged
and my product(s) still have not arrived?
Because the majority of our products are special order,
your credit card will be charged at the time that you place your order.
In order to clarify any confusion, this is because we place orders with
the manufacturers on your behalf. Once we order the items, we are often
unable to cancel or must return and pay a restocking fee. Therefore
we consider this charge a "100% deposit".
- How long does the lead time
of my order last for ?
Generally speaking, Your order will be forwarded to our factory to produce
once receipt of your order and it will take them 5 to 6 weeks preparing
well. However, it all depends on the quantity of your order. You will
receive an e-mail within 48-72 hours containing the product lead time
and delivery date.
- Do you allow me to cancel
my order ?
Once receipt of your order we will send you an email confirmation within
48 hours. Meanwhile, you order will be delivered to our factory and
going into the producing line. You are allowed to change (add or delete)
or cancel your order at the first 48 hours of placing order only.
- How will I know about your
upcoming sales?
Submit us with your email on order
sample page and we will send you email updates regarding upcoming
sales and promotions.
- May I add an Item to your Open
Order?
If you have already placed an order but it hasn't been shipped yet,
you can add a new item to your existing open order. Please email us
to handle your request.
If your order has already been sent out, you can shop online for that
item or call our Sales Department to place your next order.
- May I add items to my
order after I have placed my order successfully?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to add any
item at your side after you have placed your order successfully. However,
if your order is not yet headed to our factory or shipped, you may notify
us on the title of the items you would like to add ( Catalogue Number
must be included). With your written instruction, we can arrange to
add the relevant items to your order at our side. However, please be
informed that manual interception is required to honor the item adding
request, your order processing may get delayed
- If my return is confirmed
defective or damaged, may I ask for a refund instead of a replacement?
No, we will only arrange to prepare and ship a replacement for the original
returned item instead of arranging a refund. However, if, in case, we
are not able to provide a replacement of the original return item for
any reasons, we will arrange to refund the item price by www.mosaicsondemand.com
credit.
- If the replacement is still
defective, what shall I do?
We guarantee that the condition of all replacements must have been verified
and confirmed in good conditions before we send out. No further replacement
will be arranged
